Amara’s Spark aims to make an impact in ways that authentically speak to Amara’s character and spirit. Amara loved exploring, new places and old, and meeting new people.
She led every interaction with open eyes and an open heart, and sought to make people smile. In Amara’s honor, our organization seeks to continue her legacy by helping children and families with:

  • Amara’s Spark aims to develop activities and programs that foster family connection at our location, in individual homes and/or within communities, with a focus on dialogue.

    Research consistently shows that talking to children about their day enhances brain development, language skills, and emotional intelligence while fostering trust and secure attachment. Consistent, open-ended conversations help children process emotions, improve memory, and increase social skills.

  • Amara’s Spark aims to create programs that foster interfamily engagement, strengthen relationships, and deepen community belonging.

    Studies show that Interfamily engagement strengthens child development, boosts academic performance, and enhances social-emotional well-being by fostering stronger, more supportive environments. This engagement has led to higher school attendance, improved mental health, better communication, and increased caregiver empowerment.
